Jesse Wardlaw

Jesse Wardlaw is an AFLW superstar, 2021 AFLW Premiership Player, and member of the St Kilda FC Saints!

Young, an athletic phenom and insanely talented, Jesse is fresh off a breakout 2022 AFLW season, earning a spot on the AFLW All-Australian team, the league’s top goal-kicker, and helped lead the Lions to another Grand Final appearance.

Selected 61st in the 2018 AFLW draft, Jesse has since been awarded with two AFLPA 22under22 nominations in 2020 & 2022, and a 2019 AFLW Rising Star nomination. Known for her safe hands, strong kick, and incredible size and speed, Jesse has put together a number of unreal performances throughout her career as she continues to tap into her unlimited potential.

Jesse spend her younger years as a talented multi-sport athlete competing in cross country, basketball, netball and touch footy. It was not until an AFL 9s social game that the game’s umpire (and current AFLW player) Tayla Harris noticed Jesse’s skillset, and encouraged her to chase AFL full-time.

Outside of footy, Jesse is an energetic and adventurous individual who spends her time enjoying the outdoors with family and friends. Born in New Zealand and of Maori descent, Jesse has a deep appreciation of her family’s heritage and culture which plays a huge role in her day-to-day life.
