Daniel Georgievski Australian Footballer Agency X Talent
The A-League Season is approaching! Book Daniel For Your Next Event, Campaign or Appearance!

The past six months have been a roller coaster for the fierce Newcastle Jets defender, Daniel Georgievski, competing in the A-League Grand Final in May and then marrying the girl of his dreams in June. Now that he’s recovered from his Caribbean honeymoon he’s heading into another season with the Jets, with an intense preseason training and hoping for a second shot at the Championship.

On a crisp sunny Sunday in June, Daniel and Emily tied the knot in a traditional Macedonian, yet modern wedding. Daniel met Emily through friends when he moved back to Australia after a long stint playing overseas for multiple clubs across Europe. Their wedding took place in Melbourne with hundreds of their close friends and family in attendance. Daniel reflects on it being, “Probably the happiest day of my life… had a blast of a day where everything just ran smoothly,” mostly crediting all the hard work to Emily. Their Caribbean honeymoon, particularly through Cuba was “amazing,” Daniel saying that “seeing and experiencing the Cuban culture, was something worth seeing.” He explains the decision to go to Cuba, as a chance for him and Emily to get themselves out of their comfort zones and experience a country and culture that they’d already learnt so much about.

Fans of the fierce defender loved the personal insight into one of Daniels biggest life moments, with his Instagram posts attracting thousands of likes and a 21% engagement for the first Mr and Mrs Georgievski picture! With the average post engagement typically sitting around 1-3%... this was huge!

Earlier in the year, Daniel saw similar reach in a more controversial Instagram post where he opened up about his disappointment in the Football Federation Association’s (FFA) VAR mistake during the 2018 A-League Grand Final.

After a long streak of being at the bottom of the ladder, the Jets were pumped for a win. Fans crammed into the Newcastle stadium, with plenty of fans also setting up outside to watch the big game on projectors. Although, the offside Melbourne Victory’s Championship winning goal by Kosta Barbarouses, took the 2018 Grand Final win, the FFA released an apology about the software failure and unavailability of VAR at the time of the offside goal. Daniel didn’t hold back about his disappointment and reluctance to accept the apology.

Completely opening up about how the long-term affects of mistakes such as these can drastically affect future seasons and footballers’ careers. The post accumulated 1,375 thousand likes and nearly 200 comments from devastated Jets fans who had all anticipated a win. Had the Jets won they would have made Australian sporting history as the first team across any code to have come from holding the wooden spoon for the prior season to being the league champions the following season.

Today, Daniel and his teammates channel their anger towards the situation “into a positive feeling to take into the new season and get to the final and win the bloody thing!” Daniel still finds the controversy hard to swallow, but with the new season approaching and tough preseason training, Daniel says the team is being “put through their paces more than expected,” and that the training “goes to show that we want to go one better than last season.”

Daniel made the decision to move from the Melbourne Victory and join the Newcastle Jets in 2017. Jets manager, Mark Jones recognised the potential in the “out and out fullback” saying that “with his experience, he will help us perform under pressure. He is the first step in strengthening the squad.”

Daniel is very appreciative of the support the Newcastle community showed the team on their quest for the title. The Newcastle lifestyle has been good for Daniel, and he is enjoying living in “a beautiful, chilled out type of town” saying he “gets to appreciate life more, than living in a big city with no extra time to yourself.”

We can’t wait to see more from Daniel in the upcoming A-League season, strolling through the beautiful streets of Newcastle or checking out new coffee spots with his now wife, Emily.
